Now the hopes of the Agandugume community will be realized with the presence of a humanitarian mission from the TNI to build a Logistics Warehouse for the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) which has always been hit by famine every year due to extreme weather, namely the disaster of dew upas (Frost) which damages agricultural crops.
As revealed by the Head of Information of Kodam (Kapendam) XVII / Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Inf Candra Kurniawan that the TNI from Yonif 751 / VJS has succeeded in securing and controlling Agandugume Airport, Puncak Regency, Prov. Central Papua, Friday (5/7/2024) which has been controlled by the OPM horde by blocking.
This TNI humanitarian mission was greeted enthusiastically by the Agandugume community by emotionally welcoming the arrival of Yonif 751 / VJS Soldiers because so far they have received threats and terror from the OPM, even unsupported logistics of basic needs for daily needs because the Airport is controlled by the OPM by blocking which resulted in the Agandugume Airport not functioning / operating.
“The community was immediately busy removing and cleaning the airport track from the stakes and boulders that had been installed by the OPM,” explained Kapendam.
In addition to the construction of the BNPB logistics warehouse to be built soon, Kapendam said that the TNI and the Government will also develop commodities to improve the community’s economy, including clean water sources to fulfill the daily needs of the community for the sustainability of sustainable development to support local economic recovery.
“With this humanitarian mission, it is hoped that there will be no more hunger in Agandugume due to extreme weather that damages agricultural crops. All of this is in accordance with the Instruction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia so that people avoid famine,” said Kapendam.
The success of the Yonif 751 / VJS Task Force in this humanitarian mission is clear evidence of the TNI’s commitment to supporting the development and welfare of the Papuan people. With guaranteed security, it is hoped that the logistics warehouse construction process will run smoothly and have a major positive impact on the progress of the region.
